Afterschool Program

The Afterschool Program at The Children’s Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf provides pragmatic learning opportunities and After Schooldevelopmentally appropriate enrichment for all children ages 6 to 16 in a safe, nurturing and fully accessible after school setting.  Programming is provided to all children, regardless of his/her disability.

Language, communication, and socialization goals are addressed in a recreational environment. Activities are presented in the student’s primary mode of communication and programming is designed to meet the individual needs of students. The program takes advantage of the entire CCC/BSD campus including the full gym, computer lab, classroom space, the Life Skills Center (kitchen) and the accessible playground.

The program is offered up to 4 days per week for 2, 15-week sessions over the 10-month period of a regularly scheduled school year.  Each day of the week offers a different theme (i.e. Mondays – Multi-Sports, Tuesday – Cooking, Wednesdays – Signing Class for Kids, etc.) and is taught by CCC/BSD staff.  Parents may enroll students in as many or as few sessions as they desire.
