The Children’s Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf (CCC/BSD) Summer Program provides extended year services to currently enrolled CCC/BSD students, as well as students enrolled from outside of our school. The summer program incorporates language and communication development into an academic and skill development curriculum for each child.

Students attend the CCC/BSD Summer Program in order to maintain current performance levels and continue their language and communication development. Without this addition to an existing 180 day school year, many students with communication challenges experience greater delays. These students, due to their disabilities, require extended school year services, so as to avoid regression of skills. The CCC/BSD summer program continues to address students’ IEP goals and provides speech/language, OT, and PT services. Our program utilizes certified licensed instructors and therapists.

Outdoor activities and field trips are planned during the summer to provide a fun-filled program and to incorporate hands-on learning throughout the curriculum. High school age students are given leadership opportunities with younger students.

Eligibility: Students ages 3 to 22, whose TEAM determine need for an extended year, are eligible. Students should present with language and/or communication challenges which require specialized staff and instruction. CCC/BSD accepts a wide spectrum of cognitive levels including students near or at grade level.

Schedule: The CCC/BSD Summer Program operates Monday through Thursday for six weeks. The daily schedule is 8:30 to 2 pm. A lunch plan is available. The school holds a weekly barbecue for students and faculty.
